Meet the Auntie

Storyteller. I’ve been telling stories since I was young enough to string sentences together, and my love of storytelling permeates everything I do. Whether working on the first draft of a novel or weaving together the stories told by a spread of tarot cards, I am passionate about the way words craft our reality and how we can use them to make magic.

Hearth Tender. In many traditions, including those I trace my own lineage to, the hearth served as the spiritual center for both the home and the community, and tending this space was seen as a sacred duty. In my hearthwork, I tend not only the spiritual center of my own home, but that of my community, nurturing the warmth and protection these sacred flames provide.

Medium. What started as talking to birds when I was six has evolved into an ongoing conversation with many spirits in their many forms. My mediumship blends a mix of intuitive talent with guided study and plenty of practice. It is my belief that we all have the ability to receive this wisdom from our good spirits, and my honor to act as translator to those who have not yet honed this skill.

My Background & Magical Lineage

My journey into mysticism was a winding one. I grew up in a secular family and it wasn’t until leaving my hometown that I found my way to spirituality. It started with yoga and Ayurvedic medicine.

Between high school and college I went to Kerala India to apprentice with a local Ayurvedic practitioner. My homestay father in Kerala was a yogi in the local community and through the two of them, a new door was opened. I returned to the United States and began a create-your-own major program at the NYU Gallatin School of Individualized Study where I used the relative freedom to deepen my study into the history of yoga, body healing, and various movement modalities.

In 2014, I completed my 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training at Yoga Garden SF (now Folk Yoga). From there, I went on to teach yoga in the East Bay, NYC, and Edinburgh, Scotland. In 2019 I began my 300-Hour Teacher Training with Will Duprey of HathaVidya Yoga. It was during this time that I grew aware of a lack in my spirituality: authentic alignment with my ancestral lineage.

Through 2020-2022, I dealt with the effects of long Covid and a heart condition caused by the virus. I spent this time diving deep into my study of witchcraft, folk magic, and my own ancestral traditions. While I had dabbled in divination and witchcraft since 2016, it was during this time that I sought to decolonize my spirituality and move beyond the New Age concepts I’d flittered between, sinking instead into the wisdom of my ancestors and the traditions of my own lineage.

While my magical workings are deeply intuitive and self-taught, my work with incredible folk magicians like Liz Migliorelli and Kaitlyn Graña has helped me expand my knowledge and strengthen these intuitive talents. Today, the work I offer is rooted in the folk tradtions of my Slavic, Celtic, Germanic, and Nordic ancestors and informed by the incredible teachers I’ve had the honor to learn from for over a decade.
